Continued From Basic Knowledge of Terms in Cellphone Modification, Especially on Xiaomi Next
After knowing some basic terms, maybe some of us are still confused because there are still terms that seem to be frequent but why aren't they mentioned in basic terms?
Android Q |
Well, the sequel is here, make sure to read to the end!
1. Flash: means the same as install
2. AOSP (Android Open Source Project): Android operating system is open source.
This means that all can use and modify it. Now, AOSP is a project that uses the source code released by Google. So that later all roms are basically AOSP based, both default roms (MIUI, OneUI, etc.) and custom roms (Nusantara Project, Arrow OS, etc.)
3. CAF (Code Aurora Forum): Source Code that was released by Google earlier, was taken and processed by Quallcom so that later it would be more compatible with the processor it made.
After being adjusted, Qualcomm also released its own source code (CAF). Now that's why custom roms and custom kernels are based on CAF as a base (and usually have better performance) - since CAF is also "customized" AOSP, the CAF kernel can usually be used on AOSP based custom Roms too.
Example of a CAF-based custom rom: ConquerOS
4. LOS (Lineage OS): Same as CAF, but here, the LineageOS team is processing the source code from Google.
LOS is famous for its stability and is able to make old devices smooth to use (because the operating system is light). Therefore, there are also several custom roms that use LOS as the basis.
Example of a LOS-based custom rom: Project Sakura
5. Dynamic Partition: Google's policy is that all devices released with Android and above use dynamic partitioning,
which means that the system, vendor, and product partitions are combined. For a detailed explanation, you can Google it.
Now, after understanding little by little the terms in the world of refining oprek. Now just practice slowly slowly so you understand.
First. You have to UBL (unlock bootloader), what is UBL?
So your cellphone is locked by Xiaomi, so you don't mess around with it. So if you want to oprek, you have to unlock it first.
Lost the warranty? It's gone bro, seriously
But it's safe, if you want to claim warranty, service, etc. Just go back to the stock rom (MIUI) then lock the bootloader again, the guarantee goes back.
OK, I understand, what are the ingredients?
After UBL, what else?
Install custom recovery. I recommend installing Orangefox.
Then doing the others is easy, if you've reached this point (already installed custom recovery).
